Frequently asked questions
The two main types of scores you should be aware of are the Vantage Score and the FICO score. 90% of lenders will make use of your FICO score, which can vary up to 120 points from a Vantage Score. Your score is a 3 digit number assigned by a complex algorithm that measures your creditworthiness based on what your credit report contains. Lenders use this number to weigh the risk vs benefit of lending to you.
Your credit score is completely separate from your credit report. A credit report does not provide a score. Your score is calculated by algorithms created by private companies such as FICO and Vantage Scores. Additionally, your credit report includes identifying information, trade lines, credit histories, credit inquiries, public records, collections, and other late payment information. Your credit report is generated by private companies known as the credit bureaus. They are Equifax, Experian and Transunion.
There are 5 separate components to your credit score. Payment history, which accounts for 35% of your score, Credit utilization which accounts for 30% of your score, Credit Age which accounts for 15% of your score, Credit Mix which accounts for 10% of your score and New Credit which accounts for 10% of your score.
Of course! The process can certainly be done on your own. Simply read up on the important laws like the FCRA and FDCPA, and communicate with the credit bureaus and creditors. We're not in business because the consumer can't, we're simply a luxury service, just like car detailers and house cleaners. We take the headache out of corresponding with debt collectors and credit bureaus so you don't have to deal with it!
We understand that your budget is tight. We do have more affordable DIY options for you, however, having bad credit is going to cost you far more in the long run, than credit repair service. All those high interest rates and compounded credit card interest add up fast. We strongly urge you to consider credit repair a highly important investment into your financial future.
It's possible for your creditors to re-report deleted or removed items. That's why you should contact both your credit bureau and your creditors. In this way, inaccurate and unfair negative items are less likely to appear again on your credit report. It's important to note that credit repair is not debt settlement and even though items were removed, the debt is still owed. You should consider working out an affordable payment plan with them after it's removed so that it doesn't come back.
Certainly. If someone uses your name to obtain credit, this trade line, as well as any missed payments or collections associated with it, will appear on your credit report. Your credit report may still reflect these issues even after you've recovered your identity. Credit repair is vital for successful identity theft recovery.
Yes, but they can also improve your credit. You will benefit from making timely payments on your student loans. Furthermore, you could incur some serious damage to your credit profile if you miss these payments. If you've missed payments due to your student loans, or if you've missed other payments, it may be time to consider credit repair.
Some of the laws that protect your right to an accurate credit report are the Fair Credit Reporting Act, The Fair Debt Collections Practices Act, the Fair and Accurate Transactions Act, and several more. We leverage these laws to protect your consumer rights and get inaccurate negative information deleted.
Sadly, no. Even after a questionable negative item is removed from your credit report, the actual debt still remains (assuming it was valid to begin with). The creditor or collection agency may re-report the listing if you don't pay the debt. Getting rid of a negative item without addressing the debt is only a temporary fix. If you feel that a negative credit listing is 100% accurate, timely, and verifiable, we recommend that you do not dispute it.
No. Just because you've paid a collection account does not mean it will automatically be removed from your credit report. Similar to a Chapter 7 or Chapter 13 bankruptcy filing, a paid collection account will stay on your credit history for up to seven years, even if you ask major credit bureaus to remove it once you paid or settled the debt. Doing the credit repair process allows you to exercise your rights to demand accuracy of those reporting's (which most bureaus report inaccurately) or be removed.
It is common error for other companies, who provide credit repair, to predict which items, IF any items, can be deleted from your personal credit profile, so WE DO NOT MAKE GUARANTEES OR PROMISES that using this service will work for you. The respective credit agencies are the only ones who can add or delete information from your credit reports. Credit Fitness, This GAL Talks Credit, our partners or any third party that we are affiliated with cannot remove any items or guarantee any results.
Most who actively and/or fully participate in our program and follow the steps as directed may receive results every 30 to 45 calendar days from the last date of letters of dispute completed within the round(s) sent to the respective credit agencies and creditors.
It is wise to carry out 6 to 12 months of consistent rounds of disputes to see results. You must also fully participate and use the software(s) and follow the instructions provided and avoid any pitfalls that could eliminate your progress.
The proper expectation to have when working on your credit report when requesting the removal of errors or inaccurate, outdated, unverifiable information by the respective credit agencies is to allow up to a minimum of 6 months for the changes to be applied. It is also important to allow for 6 months to a year or longer for changes to occur when other factors are applied to your credit report such as new late payments, new collections, BK’s recently filed or discharged, closed accounts and or maxed out credit limits and balances, hard inquiries (many more factors may be applicable). We do suggest that once you have reached your 3 month milestone to opt in for a full assessment (fees may apply) to gain additional clarity on your credit status.
The overall service can be rewarding if the instructions and guidance that is provided is followed promptly and in the correct order and manner. And since you are able to access our FREE credit repair platform this may reduce your chances of having to spend the normal fees that are expected when you do retain a credit repair agency. With this program you are able to save by only having to cover the cost of your personal credit report, copy paper, ink, and postage. That’s it!
